Prince's divorce records will be made public
A Hennepin County judge has agreed to the Star Tribune's request to unseal the records of Prince’s 2006 divorce from Manuela Testolini. Testolini argued against the release of the records, saying she could suffer harassment if they were opened to the public. Testolini and Prince's estate now have 30 days to bring motions regarding specific documents, after which the papers will be made public.

John Lydon was left bleeding after being struck by a bottle thrown at him during a Sunday night show by his band Public Image Ltd. in Chile. Lydon continued the show, wrapping a towel around his head to catch the blood that was dripping onto the stage. (Pitchfork)

Neil Young is reissuing four albums from the 1970s, including the rare 1973 release Time Fades Away. The four-LP set — which also includes On the Beach (1974), Tonight's the Night (1975), and Zuma (1975) — comes out on Sept. 6. (Pitchfork)
Wilco to hold Schmilco listening parties
Wilco have announced record-store listening parties for their forthcoming album Schmilco. The album comes out on Sept. 9; three days earlier, on Sept. 6, fans can visit participating record stores (including Down in the Valley in Golden Valley, and Mill City Sound in Hopkins) to hear the music and buy the record on vinyl. Seu Jorge to tour Bowie covers
Seu Jorge is taking his Portuguese-language David Bowie covers on tour across North America in November. Images from Wes Anderson’s 2004 film The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, in which Jorge originally performed the songs, will play on screens as Jorge sings. (Billboard)
Adele shops local
Staff at the St. Louis Park Creative Kidstuff tell Mpls.St.Paul that Adele stopped by to pick up some toys for her young son Angelo when she was in the area to kick off her U.S. tour at the Xcel Energy Center. "She bought a big bag of items including a couple of Learn to Paint Kits, sketch pads, a toy leaf rake, a money jar, imaginative play hair styling sets, and a fedora that Olson says Angelo went crazy for."

For the first time in the history of the U.S. music industry, last year catalog releases outsold new releases. "Just 10 years ago," notes Chart Attack, "current music sales outpaced catalogue music by over 150 million albums. Keep in mind that these stats don't include album streams, but regardless, it's a significant turning point."
