Temple of the Dog announce first-ever tour

The '90s supergroup Temple of the Dog have announced that they'll celebrate the 25th anniversary of their self-titled album by going on tour — for the first time ever. Five tour dates have been announced, in November. (Consequence of Sound)

Third Eye Blind troll RNC

What band has caused the most consternation in Cleveland so far this week? Nope, not Prophets of Rage — it's Third Eye Blind, who performed Tuesday night at a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame event that coincided with the Republican National Convention. At the show, the band declared their support for LGBT rights and asked attendees sarcastically, "Who here believes in science?" When a Republican attendee tweeted that she's "never been more disappointed," the band replied, "good." (Pitchfork)

The Beatles releasing live album

The Beatles will release — technically, re-release — a live album featuring 1964 and 1965 concerts at the Hollywood Bowl. The Beatles Live at the Hollywood Bowl was first released in 1977, and is now coming out in digital formats for the first time. The Sept. 9 release will come shortly before the premiere of the new Ron Howard documentary The Beatles: Eight Days a Week: The Touring Years. (Billboard)

Prince is (still) being sued in Italy

Billboard points out that even in death, Prince is still the target of an Italian lawsuit that's been in process for over 20 years. In 1995, Prince was sued by Bruno Bergonzi and Michele Vicino, songwriters who allege Prince stole his song "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World" from their 1983 "Takin' Me to Paradise," recorded by Raynard J. Judgments have gone back and forth, the most recent being in favor of Bergonzi and Vicino: Prince's song is currently barred from being distributed in Italy, and the estate has been ordered to publish the sentence in various publications — which it has yet to do, hence the ongoing nature of the litigation. In the meantime, Italian performance rights organizations have begun making royalty payments for Prince's song to Bergonzi and Vicino. (Billboard)

Lowertown Line season announced

The next season of TPT's Lowertown Line series has been announced: local artists who will tape free performances for the show include Communist Daughter, Dead Man Winter, P.O.S, Siama Matuzungidi, the Roe Family Singers, and a double bill of Babes in Toyland with Bruise Violet.

Adams and Price duet

Haim cancel shows to buckle down on album

Haim are determined to finish their next album — so much so that they've canceled the rest of their summer tour dates in Europe so they can get into the studio and wrap it up.
