July 14, 2016
The Cedar Cultural Center and event organizers Curious Incidents have announced a concert titled "We Stand Together: A Fundraiser for Philando Castile," which will take place at the Cedar on Sunday, July 17.
Running from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday, the event will benefit the family of Philando Castile, who was killed by a police officer while sitting in his car on July 10. Although $10 donations are suggested, any amount will get guests in; all of the proceeds will go to the family, who will make a brief statement at the benefit.
The line-up features local artists PaviElle, Mina Moore, ZULUZULUU, BDP (from Cameron Kinghorn of Nooky Jones), Fort Wilson Riot, Eric Mayson, Rich Garvey, Manny Phesto, Nsikak, Tony the Scribe, Lydia Liza, Nathan Ejuwa, Prizm, and surprise guests, who will share art such as spoken word poetry and dance.
