400 pieces of art and furniture from the private collection of David Bowie will be sold at Sotheby's in November — but first they're going to star in an exhibit that will visit London, Los Angeles, New York, and Hong Kong. A visual artist himself, Bowie owned pieces by towering figures including Marcel Duchamp, Damien Hirst, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. (New York Times)

Bowie will be honored, along with John Coltrane and Steve Reich, in the coming season of the World Music Institute in New York. At a Nov. 11 concert, Seu Jorge will perform Bowie's songs in Portuguese, as he did in the movie The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. (New York Times)
