Help pick the music for Transmission's 5th anniversary show
July 12, 2016
Back in 2011, The Current added Transmission to its programming lineup. "Jake Rudh is a local DJ and obviously a huge music fan, and he's had DJ nights in the Twin Cities for years," Assistant Program Director David Safar said at the time. "With Transmission, Rudh focuses on post-punk and the future of post-punk through the post-punk revival. His show, like his DJ night, is going to have a definite character, not just sonically, but in terms of taste for people who really love that era of music and seek out bands who look to that era of music for their influences."
Now, here we are five years later, and it's time to celebrate a milestone anniversary of Transmission, a beloved staple each Thursday at 10 p.m.
To help celebrate Transmission's five-year broadcast anniversary, Jake has put together a list of the top 50 classic alternative songs of Transmission … and he's asking you to help create the perfect playlist for this week's two-hour anniversary special.
