Expressions of sorrow after music-related party turns violent

Minneapolis rapper T. Woods says that he will turn away from music glorifying any sort of violence after a party in the south Twin Cities metro area turned violent early Saturday morning. Four people were shot when gunfire erupted at a private party that, Woods said, "was to network and socialize with other artists from Minnesota and to support the music that is created here in our home state." Earlier, producer Tony Visconti apologized for remarks suggesting he couldn't be certain whether Adele's voice has been digitally manipulated. Visconti, best-known for working closely with David Bowie, indicates that he was making a broad observation about the music industry and didn't intend to offend Adele — who "has a great voice." MIT and Berklee launch effort to streamline artist payments from streaming

YouTube, Spotify, and the three major labels have indicated support for a new initiative led by a partnership involving MIT and the Berklee College of Music.
