What is it like to grow up on tour with three of your best friends? Jake Luppen, Nathan Stocker, Zach Sutton and Whistler Allen — better known as the members of Hippo Campus — have a pretty good idea. They've spent months on the road, hitting states such as New York, Mass., and Ohio this month, and they're headed back to Minn. for Rock the Garden this Saturday.

Ahead of their Rock the Garden set (which will include new songs off a forthcoming album, they say), Hippo Campus performed a few songs in The Current's studios and chatted with Andrea Swensson. Check out the audio to hear their live session as well as their thoughts on Minnesota, their friendship, and playing music outside.
