Good English on lockdown in wake of rape controversy

The Ohio rock band Good English have deactivated their social media accounts after facing a wave of backlash against drummer/vocalist Leslie Rasmussen’s character defense of her childhood friend Brock Turner, a former Stanford athlete who has been convicted of rape and given a sentence widely criticized as too light. In a statement, Rasmussen says she agreed to a request to "shed light on Brock's character as I knew it" during the sentencing phase of his trial, and that her comments about "the effect alcohol played in this tragedy" have been misconstrued as victim-blaming.
