Music News: Prince estate court hearing scheduled for Monday

What will become of Prince’s estate? The late music icon apparently left no will, and his sister has filed a petition listing six potential living heirs: herself and five half-siblings. A first court hearing regarding the estate has been scheduled for Monday. (MPR News)
Meanwhile, an investigation into the cause of Prince's death last week continues. According to media reports, the investigation is focusing on prescription painkillers as a possible cause of the death. (KSTP) Details are slowly emerging regarding his emergency plane landing in Illinois two weeks ago; he was reportedly administered an antidote for an overdose of an opioid. (Star Tribune)
Bruegger's Bagels has announced that all 35 of its Twin Cities locations will sell purple bagels in Prince's honor on Thursday, with proceeds going to support the Minnesota Music Coalition. (Local Current) A Prince glyph painted on a bluff in Red Wing and previously painted over by the city has now been restored. (Star Tribune)
At her Formation World Tour opener in Miami on Wednesday night, Beyoncé paid tribute to Prince with a "Purple Rain" singalong; she also performed her version of "Nasty Girl," a Prince-written hit for the group Vanity 6. (Pitchfork) The tour comes to TCF Bank Stadium on May 23, and prior to Prince's death, fans had hoped that a collaboration or Paisley Park visit might happen while Beyoncé was in town.

"Stairway to Heaven" lawsuit settlement suggested
Led Zeppelin have been offered the opportunity to settle an ongoing lawsuit, claiming they stole portions of their song "Stairway to Heaven" from the band Spirit, for just one dollar. The catch: the settlement would require that co-writing credit be given to Spirit's late guitarist Randy Wolfe, whose heirs are bringing the suit. As Billboard notes, "this would amount to much more than $1."
More Day of the Dead tracks released
The National have released additional tracks from their forthcoming 59-track Grateful Dead tribute album, Day of the Dead. The new tracks include Dead covers by Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Charles Bradley, Jim James, Sharon Van Etten with Perfume Genius, and more. (Billboard)
