This weekend, April 22 to 24, the 2016 Minnesota Horse Expo takes place at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. The event features equine competitions, horse-related presentations and vendor booths.

A number of listeners must be taking part in the Horse Expo, because we received messages from Kelly, Jennifer, Raina, Katherine, Mary and Judyth - and all of them suggested a Coffee Break related to horses. It just so happens there are indeed a number of songs that mention or reference horses.

It's a great suggestion for a theme, and we're not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. So for today's 9:30 Coffee Break, what songs do you want to hear that mention or refer to a horse or horses? Send us your requests.

Thanks to Kelly, Jennifer, Raina, Katherine, Mary and Judyth for today's theme.

Songs Played

Wild Horses - The Rolling Stones
A Horse Called Music - Wille Nelson (with Merle Haggard)
Bring on the Dancing Horses - Echo and the Bunnymen
Dig a Pony - The Beatles
Back in the Saddle Again - Gene Autry
Tennessee Stud - Doc Watson
