They don't call him "the Feelin'" for nothin': Nicholas David puts his heart and soul into every track he cuts, including every number on With These Hands, the album he's dropping on Friday with a show at the Cedar Cultural Center. It will be a homecoming for the Eagan native and Voice alumnus, who's been criss-crossing the country on a "Make Hope Tour." Dawg Yawp will support David at the Cedar.
Charlie Parr: I Ain't Dead Yet
Charlie Parr’s first release since his Red House debut Stumpjumper is a special Record Store Day release — on green vinyl, no less. Liz Draper, Mikel Beckman, and Kyle Allah play with Parr on this five-song EP featuring four new originals plus a cover of the traditional "Old Dog Blue." On Saturday, Parr will be part of the lineup for the sixth annual Record Store Day Block Party at Hymie's.
Har Mar Superstar: Best Summer Ever

Best Summer Ever is a landmark release for Har Mar Superstar: a high-profile album produced by Julian Casablancas (the Strokes), it features an appearance by Karen O (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and — as Andrea Swensson notes — brings the multiple aspects of Har Mar's persona into closer harmony than ever before. Listen to the album on our website ahead of its official release on Friday, and hear Har Mar talk about his new music in a session recorded for the Local Show.
Step Rockets: Future Nature
More polished and powerful than ever, Step Rockets are set to launch their new EP Future Nature on Friday, with a celebratory show following on Saturday night at the 7th Street Entry. Lead single "Kisser" has already hit #1 on Hype Machine; check out the video, above, shot at the Mall of America's Sea Life Aquarium.
The Honeydogs: Love & Cannibalism
Following his acclaimed, very personal solo album Naubinway, Adam Levy has reteamed with his longtime bandmates in the Honeydogs to release Love & Cannibalism — an 11-track album with a classic guitar-driven sound that makes room for keyboard and horn flourishes to add instrumental color to this summery crowd-funded collection. As Levy sings on track, "we're on the cusp of something really beautiful." Tune in to the Local Show this Sunday to hear the band play a session in our studios.
