Music News: LCD Soundsystem resurrected on Easter Sunday

On Sunday night, LCD Soundsystem reunited for their first show in five years, performing at New York City's Webster Hall. The show was a warm-up for their upcoming headlining gig at Coachella, as made clear by the Webster Hall marquee which read, "Test in Progress, Please Stand By." LCD Soundsystem kicked off their 15-song set with "Get Innocuous" and followed with tunes like "You Wanted a Hit," "All My Friends," and "Daft Punk is Playing at My House." (Consequence of Sound)
Run the Jewels 3 is halfway done
Killer Mike and El-P of Run the Jewels have been leaking clips of what is presumed to be their forthcoming third Run the Jewels record. And now, El-P has tweeted that the album is "halfway done" will likely be coming out in 2016. Last week, El-P shared a brief snippet of Killer Mike rhymes from the album. (Pitchfork)

More acts added to David Bowie tribute concerts
The lineups for this week's Music of David Bowie tributes in New York continue to grow. It was announced Monday that Patti Smith, J Mascis, Esperanza Spalding, TV on the Radio's Kyp Malone, Gogol Bordello's Eugene Hutz, Bilal, Tariq, and Kronos Quartet have been added to the sold-out shows. Brian Wilson says, "I miss making music"
In a recent interview with Uncut, Brian Wilson admits that while he hasn't penned a song in 18 months, he misses making music and hopes to work on a new album later in the year. Flight of the Conchords add dates to their North American tour
New Zealand's Flight of the Conchords — Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie — recently announced a tour, where they promised they'd be testing out some new tunes. Now they've added more North American dates to their tour itinerary, including a stop at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis on June 17. The tour kicks off in Cleveland on June 11. (Pitchfork)

It seems as though Axl Rose will, in fact, be pulling double duty with Guns N' Roses and AC/DC this year. The rumor started with an Atlanta radio DJ who claimed Rose was in town meeting with members with AC/DC, and now, TMZ has shared photographs of Rose and AC/DC members exiting the same Atlanta rehearsal space. At a concert in Los Angeles next month, Big Star's classic 1978 album, Third, will be performed live by Wilco's Pat Sansone and Jeff Tweedy, Yo La Tengo's Ira Kaplan, R.E.M.'s Mike Mills, and others. The concert will be filmed for a pending CD/DVD release. (NME)
