Har Mar Superstar has announced a new album. Best Summer Ever will be produced by Julian Casablancas of the Strokes, to be released on April 8. A first single — "Youth Without Love" — was written by Casablancas and is now streaming on Pitchfork. The album will also feature an appearance by Karen O (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) on one track.
Pitchfork reports that Chris Bierden, Ryan McMahon, Matt Sweeney, and Ryan Olson are also involved with the album; Karen O, James Levy, Bobby Charles, and Sweeney contributed songwriting. Har Mar is planning a world tour behind the album, and will be at SXSW later this spring.
Best Summer Ever follows Har Mar's 2013 release Bye Bye 17, a favorite with The Current's listeners.
