Throbbing Hive with John Moe: Robot butlers and Trump-be-gone
by Anna Reed
January 05, 2016
Every Tuesday at 7:30 a.m., John Moe stops into the Morning Show to share the latest news in technology.
This week, John Moe stopped by The Current's Morning Show to talk to Jade and Sean McPherson about Mark Zuckerberg's dreams of robot butlers and a new Chrome extension that filters out all internet mentions of Donald Trump.
Mark Zuckerberg has made it his 2016 goal to build a robot butler. That's right – his own artificial intelligence butler.
"He's going to think about it a lot and innovate and because he's Mark Zuckerberg people will evidently give him things," John says.
People in the tech industry are tinkerers, he says. "It sounds crazy but you have robots all over the place," John says, like roombas.
Hopefully, John points out, the robot doesn't kill anyone with its laser eyes.
Moving on to other topics throbbing in the hive, there is a new Chrome extension out there for people experiencing Donald Trump fatigue on the internet.
"It comes with three degrees of force," John said. "Mild, aggressive and vindictive."
But that's not the only interesting Chrome extension out there. There's also extensions for emboldening the language you use throughout the day and for telling you how long your relationship has lasted.
John Moe co-hosts the podcast Conversation Parade (with Open Mike Eagle) on the Infinite Guest network, and is an author of a number of books, including The Deleted Emails of Hilary Clinton: A Parody and Dear Luke, We Need To Talk, Darth: And Other Pop Culture Correspondences.
