Hot Chip celebrate the release of their new album Why Make Sense? this week by climbing to the top for the very first time. David Safar reviews their sixth studio release as The Current's Album of the Week, stating that they've made "a timeless body of work that arrives at a moment when EDM is losing the art of performance." They play First Avenue on Saturday, May 30.

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to win tickets to Glass Animals' sold out show at First Avenue on Thursday, June 4 plus the opportunity to attend a sound check party before the show!

Hippo Campus climb back to #2 as two unique concerts at Northrop approach! On June 26 Hippo Campus will open for another group in our top five this week: My Morning Jacket! Another Chart Show favorite, Lizzo, will open the second night at the newly renovated venue on June 27.

Florence and the Machine slip to #5, but Ms. Welch made it to the cover of Billboard this week where she tells of her nervous breakdown and the good advice she received from Taylor Swift!

Father John Misty is back after a week's hiatus, and if you didn't get tickets to see him playing with Alabama Shakes next weekend we have some big news this Friday, May 22 at 8 a.m. on The Current's Morning show, so tune in! You also have another chance later this summer courtesy of Trampled by Turtles who have added him to a very impressive lineup for their second Festival Palomino, with Laura Marling (at #11) also joining the fun!

Tame Impala are the highest mover this week, up to #8 with the epic "Let It Happen." When Kevin Parker of the band stopped in to chat to David Campbell last week he asked if we were playing the "radio edit?" "No, we're kicking the whole jam!" answered host Dave Campbell and assistant program director Lindsay Kimball, who looked pleased! Both DC and Bill DeVille were at the show at First Avenue which was totally packed and—according to Campbell— the sound was the best ever! They're a band that the older and younger music lovers both can love, perhaps for different reasons. Here's a review of the show from one of the younger ones at the MN Daily.

The only new entry comes from Built To Spill, veterans of the indie rock underground, who say that the secret of their longevity is to ... "just keep playing!" You can see them doing just that at the Varsity Theater this Sunday.
