Besides breathing, I can't think of anything I've done successfully for 40 years. Charlie Maguire can. He started playing music as a teenager and came to Minnesota to find a home with fellow songwriters on the famed West Bank of Minneapolis. He became a regular on the very early days of A Prairie Home Companion and served as the first ever Centennial Troubadour for the National Park Service.
Charlie is celebrating 40 years of songwriting Saturday night at the Ginkgo Coffeehouse in St. Paul. He stopped in the studio to chat about his career.
