Dave Grohl told Howard Stern that he had an odd encounter with Prince in 2011. "During his Los Angeles residency in 2011," recaps Consequence of Sound, "Prince invited Grohl to come and jam before one of his shows. 'I waited for him to call all week, I didn’t know whether I was going to play drums or guitar, his song or mine,' Grohl recounted. 'I walked into the empty area during soundcheck and Prince just appears … He picks up a bass and starts shredding … and we started playing "Whole Lotta Love."'
