The world's most infamous twerker, Miley Cyrus, is done with that allegedly appropriated dance move. Her new jam? The Atlanta-born "Nae Nae," which involves putting a hand in the air, dropping the rest of your body low, and more or less freestyling from there. 2015 nominees for the Songwriters Hall of Fame include Tom Petty, Elvis Costello, Cyndi Lauper, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, and Steve Winwood among numerous others. The selected honorees will be officially inducted next June. (Billboard)

Conor Oberst and Jenny Lewis have revealed that ten years ago, they made a "rag-tag" album called Blood on the 4-Tracks. Will it ever see the light of day? "I'd be into it as long as it's some kind of edible 7" or something," says Oberst. (Pitchfork)
Bono has now outright apologized for dropping U2's new album into the iTunes libraries of 500 million users, but that's not good enough for Patrick Carney of the Black Keys. The gesture "sends a huge mixed message to bands" who are still struggling to get by and can't afford to give music away, said Carney in an interview with the Seattle Times. "I think that they were thinking it’s super generous of them to do something like that," but the move "devalued their music completely." (Billboard)
The days of Billy Crystal's hit single "You Look Marvelous" aren't that far behind us, it seems: novelty numbers can still make the Top 40, as demonstrated by the arrival of Jimmy Fallon and will.i.am at #26 with "Ew!"
