Today’s Music News: Deleted passages about male intimacy restored to Morrissey autobiography

For reasons that the publisher has declined to state, a few sentences on Morrissey's intimate relationship with photographer Jake Walters were deleted from the American hardcover edition of Morrissey's autobiography when it was published last year, though the passages appeared in the original British edition. The passages have now been restored—with just as little explanation—to the American paperback edition. (Billboard)
No saint by anyone's definition, Mark Kozelek (Sun Kil Moon) isn't about to let Adam Granduciel of the War on Drugs get the last word—spoken or sung—in their Kozelek-invented beef. Kozelek has been taunting the War on Drugs with statements up to and including an entire song about how much he hates the band, their frontman Granduciel broke his silence with an obscenity-laden rant about Kozelek. Firing back, Kozelek has released what he calls "Adam Granofsky Blues," in which Kozelek reads Granduciel's comments while laughing wickedly and strumming a guitar. (Consequence of Sound)
James E. Evans, a Kentucky man who was jailed for over a week after posting seemingly lyrics about a school shooting from a song by the heavy metal band Exodus to his Facebook profile will not face charges, prosecutors have determined. The band expressed disappointment at the authorities' arrest of Evans, saying their song was a protest against school violence. (Billboard)
With her song "All About That Bass" topping the Billboard Hot 100 for an eighth week, Meghan Trainor has broken a record previously held by Michael Jackson: the longest run in the top slot by a single released on Epic records.
