Taking a break from his anti-War-on-Drugs campaign, Mark Kozelek (Sun Kil Moon) is readying a holiday album: Sings Christmas Carols will be released on Nov. 4. Pitchfork has premiered Kozelek's cover of Vince Guraldi's "Christmas Time is Here," famously featured in A Charlie Brown Christmas. Towards the end of the track, Kozelek recites a few lines of Charlie Brown's dialogue from the special, saying that the happy holiday season always gets him down. A second voice identified by Pitchfork only as "a friend" takes the Linus role and says, "Of all the Mark Kozeleks in the world, you're the Mark Kozelek-iest."

Jack White will speak at Yale University on Tuesday, participating in a roundtable discussion about Wisconsin's Paramount label. White's Third Man Records recently released a set of jazz and blues tracks that originally came out on Paramount from 1917-1932. (Pitchfork)

In a newly-published memoir, jazz/pop great Herbie Hancock opens up about his battle with crack addiction. He writes about the first time he tried the drug: "when the high hit me, it was like nothing I'd ever felt. Crack overloads the pleasure center of your brain, hitting you with a wave of every pleasurable sensation you can imagine, physical and emotional, all at once. I closed my eyes and thought, Oh, s--t. I should never have done this. This stuff was obviously way too dangerous to mess with. I decided that night that this would be the last time I ever smoked crack. Unfortunately that resolution lasted only about a month before I picked up the pipe again." It ultimately took Hancock years to break his habit. (Vulture)

On Dec. 2, Brian Eno will reissue four of his 1990s albums—Nerve Net (1992), The Shutov Assembly (1992), Neroli (1993), and The Drop (1997). Each album will come with a bonus disc of previously unreleased material. (Pitchfork)

The final two shows of Justin Timberlake's 20/20 Experience tour—on Jan. 1 and 2 in Las Vegas—will be filmed by Jonathan Demme. An award-winning director (Silence of the Lambs), Demme is responsible for what's often called the greatest concert film of all time, Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense. (Billboard)
