MPR's Movie Maven Stephanie Curtis joins Steve Seel and Jill Riley to talk about a new action-adventure film starring Denzel Washington.

The Equalizer is based on the television show of the same name. Washington plays Robert McCall, who works full-time at a DIY supercenter as a retired former intelligence officer. When a friend is wronged, however, McCall uses his wits and his previous training to exact revenge.

"It's done really incredibly well for what it is," Stephanie says. "It's gratuitous but enjoyable."
