Stef Alexander — also known as P.O.S. — knows the Minnesota State Fair well. When he was 16 years old, he worked as a werewolf at the haunted house on the fairgrounds. He made sure to show up on time, too, because he didn't want to be stuck with the swamp monster getup (the scares were scarce).

Yesterday on the MPR stage at the Minnesota State Fair, P.O.S. performed his first solo show since undergoing a successful kidney transplant; this Saturday he'll play the big MN Music-on-a-Stick show with the full Doomtree crew at the Grandstand.

After the surgery, Stef's doctors ordered a 90-day bed rest. A lot of TV viewing happened, including watching the fantasy football-themed comedy The League. P.O.S. tells Looch that the transplant has affected every aspect of his life, but he's grateful for all that he's learned along the way, like to forget about complaining and to only do things in life that he truly digs.

On Saturday nights at 11:00 p.m., P.O.S. hosts an hour-long radio show on the Current. Mary Lucia asked Stef what his favorite part about having his own radio show is. The answer: playing music that people have never before. If P.O.S. wants to play a 13-minute Brian Eno song, it's totally cool. You can find archived episodes of P.O.S. is Ruining The Current here.
