Movie Maven: 'If I Stay'
August 22, 2014
MPR's Movie Maven Stephanie Curtis joins Steve Seel and Jade (in for Jill Riley) to talk about a new drama starring Chloë Grace Moretz.
Based on Gayle Forman's young adult novel, Moretz plays a character called Mia Hall, a young woman debating whether to pursue her musical dreams at Juilliard or to follow a different path to be with the love of her life, Adam (Jamie Blackley). But what should have been a carefree family drive changes everything, and now Mia's life hangs in the balance.
"For a teenage romance, I think it's pretty great," Stephanie says. "But it's almost too difficult to piece together the hospital scene and the flashbacks."
Stephanie also gives kudos to a dramatic turn by actor Stacy Keach. Listen to the audio above to hear Stephanie's full review.
If I Stay is rated PG-13 and is playing everywhere.
