The director and producer of Midnight Rider, a planned biopic about Gregg Allman, have been booked in Georgia on charges of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Sarah Jones, a camera assistant who died after being struck by a train while making the movie in February. Fair Trade Music? A movement spreading across the country is asking live music venues to guarantee that musicians are paid what the organizers assess as a "living wage." Venues that agree to pay musicians a given amount—for example, $230 for a solo performer headlining a large venue—and agree to certain conditions regarding equipment and facilities (such as adequate dressing rooms and load-in space) can become Fair Trade certified.
