9:30 Coffee Break: Shakespeare
April 23, 2014

We're celebrating the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth. Megan, a 9th grade English teacher in the Twin Cities, wrote in to remind us of the anniversary. She told us the class was covering, "Romeo and Juliet and [she] thought since it's William Shakespeare's birthday today we could do a Coffee Break on songs inspired by Shakespeare."
Let's put together a historical and literary version of the Coffee Break. What songs should we play that were inspired by Shakespeare? We don't just want your song request, you have to also provide the line that refers to the Shakespearean work. (Bonus points for songs that refer to Romeo and Juliet)
Don't forget to get your email in for a Coffee Break on the Road. We've got The Cactus Blossoms and treats from The Freehouse this month. If you want to win, you have to enter: CoffeeBreak@TheCurrent.org
Songs Played:
Dire Straits - "Romeo and Juliet"
The Smiths - "Cemetery Gates"
Bruce Springsteen - "Fire"
The Beatles - "I am the Walrus"
The Reflections - "Just Like Romeo and Juliet"
Blue Oyster Cult - "Don't Fear the Reaper"
