Every Monday at 8:30am StarTribune sports writer Michael Rand stops into the Morning Show to share the latest news in Sports.

Today Michael Rand chatted with The Morning Show's Steve Seel and Jade about:

1) Jason Collins, who came out as a gay man last April, signed a contract Sunday to play with the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA. That makes him the first openly gay player in any of the four "major" US men's pro sports leagues.

2) The Olympics have come and gone, and my lasting memory, unfortunately, will be those damn Canadians beating the US in both men's and women's hockey.

3) A major soccer match is coming to Minneapolis in August, it was announced late last week. Olympiakos vs Manchester City will be played at TCF Bank Stadium as part of the International Champions Cup
