The Sporting Life with Star Tribune's Michael Rand: Could Michael Sam be the First Openly Gay Football Player?
February 10, 2014
Every Monday at 8:30am StarTribune sports writer Michael Rand stops into the Morning Show to share the latest news in Sports.
Today Michael Rand chatted with The Morning Show's Steve Seel and Jill Riley about:
1) The big talker Sunday night: Michael Sam, who played college football at the University of Missouri and was one of the best players in his conference, announced he is gay. He is hoping to be drafted, which would make him the first openly gay NFL player (at the time he is playing).
2) The Vikings released plans on Friday regarding how much extra ticket buyers will have to spend for seat license fees in the new stadium. The average cost? $2,500.
3) Olympics! If you can get past Bob Costas and his unfortunately gross looking pink-eye, there are some fun events already happening.
