ALL CAPS ALL INDUCTED!
Two of the biggest break out bands of the year have been inducted this week to our Chart Hall of Fame. They've both been touring relentlessly to take advantage of their success and sometimes this can take a toll on young performers.

HAIM had to cancel a show this week in my old home county of Norfolk at the University in Norwich, as Danielle has a chest infection (the cold damp weather in Norfolk is tough!). They have already rescheduled the show for March and hope to be back playing again tonight in Birmingham (a slightly drier climate in the center of the country!).

Submit your Chart Show ballot this week for a chance to spend New Year's Eve with Dawes at the Varsity Theater!

Another of the big breakout artists of the year is the highest mover this week, Jake Bugg. "What Doesn't Kill You" is on my list of singles of the year! Arcade Fire take back the top spot this week, and they're on my album of the year list. In fact, they garnered second spot on an aggregate tally of the Don't forget to vote for your 5 faves for our Top 89 countdown!

The highest new entry this week is from the new Broken Bells record, After the Disco, that will be out next year. I've been saying that it reminds me of The Bee Gees and DangerMouse, one half of the band, agrees: "And then there's this melody that came out of James that was like the chorus. It sounded kind of like the Bee Gees a little bit, but so what, the Bee Gees had some good choruses." You can read more about the making of the album from our friends at NPR.

The other new entry is from Best Coast who just posted this spiffy vid. I love that Bethany and Bobb play guitar riffs on their tennis racquets — that's the closest I've ever come to being a real rock star! AND Bobb is wearing a Brazil football jersey, getting ready for the World Cup no doubt!

The draw for the finals happens Friday and if you're into footie check out my Monday blog On The Ball.
