History Highlight:
Today in 1966, "Good Vibrations" by The Beach Boys, was released. In addition to the lush arrangement and gorgeous harmonies, the song utilized a theremin, an instrument previously heard mostly in horror movie soundtracks. The song cost $40,000 to record, the most expensive single produced to date. "Good Vibrations" is number six on Rolling Stone's list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" and is part of the The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's "500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll" list.

1998 - For the first time since the '60s, Bob Dylan performed in his hometown of Duluth, Minnesota. The gig sold out in five hours.
