Album Review: Franz Ferdinand, 'Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action'

With Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action, Franz Ferdinand are back and — for late August — have made your perfect summer record, so soak it up.
This exuberant collection of songs is the first from the Grammy-winning Glasgow four-piece band since 2009's Tonight.
With bouncy touches of The Cars and choppy sounds of Gang of Four, it's clear Franz Ferdinand want you to clear your living room furniture and dance. They've once again rediscovered fun with their relentless charm and exquisite bravado, with shouting choruses, interesting octave play with vocals and high-energy tempo throughout. Touches of their era-capturing debut, Franz Ferdinand, are found all over the new record.
Highlight tracks on Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action include "Evil Eye," "Love Illumination," and "Stand On The Horizon," plus the rapid-fire catchiness of "Bullet" and the jangly '60s vibe of "Fresh Strawberries."
So whip open those windows, move the couch and get to it!
