The Goondas perform live in The Current studios
by David Campbell, Jon Schober and The Goondas
July 29, 2013
Long regarded as favorites for The Current's Local Show, The Goondas came back to our studios in support of their sophomore album Dog Show.
The quartet rose quickly to prominence with their 2010 self-titled debut and won the "Best Live Band" award from City Pages the following year. Known for raucous stage antics and the frenetic delivery of frontman Brenden Green, The Goondas have maintained their status as one of the best acts in town even despite a lack of recorded material as of late.
Well, that's all changed now that Dog Show has been unleashed on the world. Two years in the making, these songs are the group's tightest yet, whipping by in the blink of an eye. And they even gave us 3D album artwork with glasses included — we don't think anyone else can claim that as a "first" in the local music community.
Songs performed: "Autorotica," "Be Gone" and "Penthouse Suite"
