Actual Wolf is preparing to release his debut, self-titled album in the fall after a year of touring behind his two EPs Actual Wolf USA and Lightning and The Wolf. Eric Pollard has assembled a full band to bolster his ideas into full, lush arrangements; the talents of Steve Garrington and brothers Jake and Jeremy Hanson are now in the mix, ensuring that these songs don't get written off as just another "guy with a guitar."
"Kerosene and Spark," our first taste of the forthcoming record, isn't so much a departure from what Pollard was doing before. But it's definitely an immaculately produced alt-country rocker, and without a doubt a mature expansion on what started as a more lo-fi, Bob Dylan inspired project.
Grab the single for free all this week, watch the music video and peruse the lyrics, handwritten by Pollard's dad with noteworthy penmanship.
