The Hang Ups, led by guitarist and vocalist Brian Tighe, have been bustling in and out of the Minneapolis music scene since first forming in 1990. Over the course of their 20+ years together, the group has released four studio albums. Though they weren't as popular on the charts as say Semisonic or Prince, the quartet's Byrds and Kinks-esque sound ended up influencing the local music community even to this day.
The Hang Ups are featured as our local artist of the month. Dig deeper into their discography and tales of their time in the Minneapolis music scene with Steve Seel's complete retrospective.
It's truly a treat to have a local legend join forces once again and perform in The Current studios. The connection that The Hang Ups once had is obviously still present — their in-studio was nostalgic and clicked right into place, taking us back to another era of Twin Cities music.
Songs performed: "Greyhound Bus," "Comin' Through" and "Something Fragile feat. Reba Fritz"
