9:30 Coffee Break: Applause
June 19, 2013
Earlier this morning we were talking about how scientists have determined that applause is a social contagion. What does that mean? Well, just that people in an audience don't alter their clapper due to the performance, but by the applause of the people around them.
Now, we aren't going to play live versions of songs and judge the clapping at the end of those. Instead, we are looking for songs that feature clapping from the members of the band at the end of a studio version of a song. What songs should we play for today's 9:30 Coffee Break?
Do you want The Morning Show to stop by your workplace? Just send us an email at: CoffeeBreak@TheCurrent.org - tell us why you deserve a Coffee Break and we'll bring Peace Coffee, food from the Birchwood Cafe, and this month the music of Bomba de Luz to your work.
Songs Played:
Sufjan Stevens - "Decatur, or a Round of Applause for Your Stepmother"
Badly Drawn Boy - "Four Leaf Clover"
David Bowie - "Andy Warhol"
Fountains of Wayne - "Red Dragon Tattoo"
Supergrass - "Pumping on Your Stereo"
The Beatles - "All Together Now"
