Theft of the Dial: Mayor R.T. Rybak
by Steve Seel, Jill Riley and Peter Valelly
April 05, 2013
Minneapolis' mayor R.T. Rybak, due to wrap up his third and final term at the end of this year, has become a widely beloved figure for his commitment to causes ranging from economic development to biking infrastructure, his impressively active social media presence, and his general down-to-earth demeanor—how many other mayors are regularly spotted by their constituents on city bike trails, or are seen crowd-surfing on multiple occasions?
When Rybak stopped by The Current studio to take over our airwaves, it wasn't the first time he's shown love to the station—he's made both video-based and in-person appearances at our birthday party, and has given us some Twitter shout-outs before. But it's perhaps the most fun and in-depth opportunity we've had to get the Minneapolis mayor involved in what we do here at The Current. Enjoy his Theft of the Dial, and for you St. Paulians out there, no worries: we've gotten in touch with Chris Coleman about bringing him in for a TOTD as well.
