When it comes to loud bands, it's difficult to out-do STNNNG. For 10 years, this local quintet has released some of the most acclaimed Minnesota albums and consistently challenged the strength of venues' sound systems across town.
For their new album Empire Inward, the band got the chance to record with Shellac's Steve Albini and play All Tomorrow's Parties in England. While there, they took some time to master the album at Abbey Road, an intensive and painstaking affair that has led to their sharpest release yet.
STNNNG talked with Local Show host David Campbell about their recent "Midway take-over," how they've lasted so long as a band and what response they would have gotten if they were active in the '70s.
Songs performed: "Brain-Dumb," "Adam Justified" and "Long Middle"
