Irish alt-rock band Snow Patrol formed in 1994 and recorded a couple of independent albums and a smattering of EPs in the late 1990s and early 2000s. It was their major label debut Final Straw in 2003, however, that vaulted them to global alt-rock fame.

Since then, the band has recorded and released three more albums, refining their anthemic Brit-pop sound and dabbling in experimentation with new genres, particularly loop-based electronica. Fallen Empires, the band's sixth and most recent album, has also been possibly their most successful, and the quintet has followed it with extensive touring.

While in town for a show at Roy Wilkins Auditorium, Snow Patrol stopped by The Current studios to play a few songs and talk to Mary Lucia.

Songs played: "Called Out In The Dark," "Chasing Cars" and
"This Isn't Everything You Are."
