This is the second record from Jefferson Airplane and the first to feature Grace Slick on vocals. She brought a few songs over from her previous group The Great Society, "Somebody to Love" and "White Rabbit," which became huge hits and put the psychedelic, counterculture of San Fransisco into the mainstream.
