How can an evening of blues be so happy? If you were in the audience for this show, you know what I mean.
On March 24th, Pat Donohue and friends put on a show called "Blues Profiles" with special guests Guy Davis and Jearlyn Steele. The evening was a tribute to blues legends Mississippi John Hurt, Muddy Waters, Bessie Smith, Sonny Terry and more.
Guy Davis has just released a new album on Red House Records called, "The Adventures of Fishy Waters: In Bed With the Blues". And Jearlyn Steele has been singing with her family since a child and is a regular on A Prairie Home Companion. Jearlyn and Guy also showed us a few dance steps along the way too.
Pat's band included the rhythm section of the Guy's All Star Shoe Band, bassist Gary Raynor and Peter Johnson on drums. Radoslav Lorkovic played piano and accordion. Noah Hoehn blew the harmonica and Steve Strand added trumpet.
Enjoy!!
