Tim O'Brien on Radio Heartland
by Mike Pengra and Tim O'Brien

If you ever book Tim O'Brien for a gig, you never know what instrument he'll show up with. He's equally virtuosic on fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo, bouzouki or piano...and he sings like a bird.
His latest album, "Chicken and Egg", was released just about a year ago and it contains original music and a few covers. There also some co-writes on the disc as well.
And that's part of the full picture of Tim O'Brien. He's a world class solo performer, but he's having the most fun when he's collaborating with other musicians.
You could say, "Tim plays well with others".
Tim O'Brien stopped by the Radio Heartland studio to sing, play and talk about the 100th anniversary of the birth of Bill Monroe.
