The Blind Shake perform in The Current studio
by David Campbell and The Blind Shake
July 03, 2011
The trio of Jim Blaha, Mike Blaha, and Dave Roper have now been gracing the Twin Cities with their brand of noise rock--with its hints of blues and 60s garage-psych--for the better part of a decade. Though perhaps best known for their stomping, athletic live shows, the Blind Shake have also been a steady recording unit, with two full length albums (2005's Rizzograph and 2007's Carmel), a pair of 7-inch EPs, and two collaborations with local avant-rock legend Michael Yonkers under their belts.
Now they bring us their third LP, Seriousness, named after a friend's quip that "the Blind Shake take their live set more seriously than most people take their whole lives." Listen to these songs and you'll believe it, too.
Songs performed: "Wheelchair," "I'm Not An Animal," and "Out of Work."
