It's no surprise that Portland, Ore. sextet Blitzen Trapper's sound falls immediately in the realm of Pacific Northwest folk, evoking the likes of Fleet Foxes and Horse Feathers.

Their signing to Sub Pop has garnered Blitzen Trapper a great deal of attention, and their first album with the label, "Furr," yielded Rolling Stone's #4 track of 2008 of the same name. Fresh on the heels of a First Avenue performance with label mates (and cute high-schoolers) Avi Buffalo, Blitzen Trapper stopped by the Current studios for their fourth time, and their first since the release of new album "Destroyer of the Void."

Songs performed: "The Tree," "Sadie," "Laughing Lover" and "Love + Hate."
