Live From The Current's Studio and Events
James Buckley Trio performs in The Current studios
by David Campbell and James Buckley Trio
September 23, 2009
For the past five years James Buckley has been at the forefront of the Twin Cities music community, from his early days playing bass with the experimental Poor Line Condition to his recent work with The Pines, some say Buckley is prolific.
But what originally brought Buckley to the Twin Cities was the jazz community, so it's no surprise that his trio is gaining notoriety for playing jazz in a scene often dominated by indie rock. With JT Bates on drums and Bryan Nichols on piano, the trio stopped by The Current for a live performance on The Local Show.
Songs performed: "Keep It/Them Together," "Red Light Mother," "Knowing and Losing," "Somebodies Arms" (Web exclusive).
