Chances are, if you've heard any live music in the Twin Cities at any time you've seen Dan "Daddy Squeeze" Newton in his trademark hi-top Chuck Taylors playing the accordion. He's the founding member of several area bands including the Cafe Accordion Orchestra, the Rocking Pinecones, Jumbo Yaya and others. All of the bands are different in their song lists, but Dan is the common thread running through all.

Dan just finished his first solo record appropriately titled "Hi-Top Sneakers." However, it's not solo accordion; the CD contains most - if not all - of the other musicians Dan plays with in his other bands.

Dan, along with Pat Donohue on guitar and Gary Raynor on bass, stopped in the studio to play a few tunes from his new record for Dale and Jim Ed.

Songs performed: "Downtown Strut," and "Red Head Woman"
