Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, King Princess is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter whose debut single, an ode to untold queer histories titled “1950,” became an overnight smash hit with over 560 million streams to date and eventually achieving Platinum status in the United States and Australia.

Her debut album, Cheap Queen, was released in 2019 via Mark Ronson’s Zelig Records/Columbia Records to widespread critical acclaim from The New York Times, Pitchfork, NPR, Rolling Stone, and others, and she has performed on Saturday Night Live and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Her sold-out tours have taken her across the world with festival sets at Coachella, Glastonbury, Governors Ball, and Bonnaroo and landed her on the cover of V MagazineGQ Style UKHighsnobiety, and more.

Artist, producer, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and rapper St. Panther refracts raw feeling over a hypnotic hybrid of soul swagger, jazz eloquence, and hip-hop heat. Acclaimed by Lyrical Lemonade and christened an “artist you’re definitely going to want to keep your eye on” by Nylon.

Following high school, she made a name for herself as a sought-after local producer, jumping from recording friends at 50 bucks a pop to helming Makeout Reef’s full-length LP, Existential. Gigging constantly, she fronted Quiet Girl and also began concurrently performing under the moniker of St. Panther. The moniker came from a childhood nickname. “My dad used to call me ‘Little Panther’ in middle school,” she recalls. “I was bullied a lot, so he was like, ‘Instead of being a little cat, you have to be strong like a little panther.’ The name stayed with me. It ties everything together.”

2015 saw her formally introduce St. Panther on the independent P(1) EP as she played quite literally everywhere—from bars to art galleries—in support of it. Meanwhile, the single “Playa” gained impressive traction. Following its premiere on Nylon, Pharrell and Scott Vener spun “Playa” on Pharrell’s Apple Music Beats 1 Radio Show OTHERtone. Additionally, she worked with Adidas Sound Labs and hosted a private listening session of her music with Pusha T at ComplexCon on the eve of tour. St. Panther has also accumulated co-signs from artists the likes of Beck and Sharon Van Etten. The Irvine, CA native turned up the volume on her enigmatic personality via her 2020 debut EP These Days for Nice Life Recording Company, followed by the 2021 single “Problems.”

In 2020, St. Panther was named one of KCRW’s “Best New Artists of 2020” and the LA Times recently hailed St. Panther’s, “confident voice that gracefully moves from singing to rapping to that sublime space in between, the charismatic St. Panther owns every couplet she delivers….it doesn’t take a visionary to see her lightning-bolt talent.” In addition, her song “Infrastructure” landed a sync in Season 4 of Issa Rae’s hit HBO show Insecure. Most recently, St. Panther unveiled a two-track bundle with songs “Greatness” and “Places,” from her highly anticipated project set for release in 2022.
