About this Event
In 1979, Twin/Tone Records released the Big Hits of Mid-America Vol. III collection which documented the Minneapolis’ music subculture of the late 1970s. Several acts on volume three went on to record their own albums, something few of their ‘60s “Big Hits” counterparts managed. Still creating, Curtiss A is recording his third Twin/Tone LP. Fingerprints’ guitarist Jeff Waryan leads Figures while bassist Steve Fjelstad engineers many Twin Cities releases. Suicide Commando Chris Osgood is Twin/Tone’s in-house producer and distribution czar. The Twin Cities record label, Backgroove Records, is now reissuing this classic album and are kicking off the re-release with this show featuring groups from the compilation.
Presented by Hopkins Center for the Arts, Mill City Sound and Bongos & Buds Music Center, this is a night that is 40+ years in the making!
