This week we’re showcasing the self-titled debut album from Manchester greats, The Smiths, considered one of the most important bands to emerge from the 1980s music scene in the UK. Released 40 years ago on February 20, 1984, the album made the band an international sensation and introduced the world to the legendary music-making duo of Johnny Marr and Morrissey. Today, The Smiths’ debut is considered one of the greatest albums of all time. We’ll be spinning tracks from the release along with a signature mix of new wave and post-punk classics.
