The Time Machine tracks back to 1997 this time, the year Blur taught us that all you need for a stadium anthem was some raucous guitar and a few woo-hoo's. Radiohead made their most adventurous album yet. Green Day went mellow and had a chart topper. One of the most exciting things in music was the film and album Buena Vista Social Club, where many of us discovered the sounds of Cuba. 'Buena Vista Social Club' is the debut album by the Buena Vista Social Club, an ensemble of Cuban musicians directed by Juan de Marcos González and American guitarist Ry Cooder. It was recorded at Havana's EGREM studios in March 1996 and released on September 16, 1997.
