This week’s Teenage Kicks is chock full of rock and roll as we celebrate two key anniversaries:

  • On August 6, 1996, the Ramones played their final concert; it was a show at the Palace in Los Angeles, the recording of which became the Ramones’ final live album, We’re Outta Here!, released in 1997;

  • On August 5, 1975, the groundbreaking all-women rock band the Runaways were founded, the band’s lineup comprising Jackie Fox, Joan Jett, Sandy West, Cherie Currie and Lita Ford.

We’ll hear music by each of these bands, as well as music by Oingo Boingo, Tears for Fears, Mojo Nixon, Depeche Mode, the Clash and more.
