The Time Machine stops in 1983 this time. In the pop world, it was a big year for women with big debuts from Madonna and Cyndi Lauper. David Bowie became a superstar with the release of his Let's Dance recording. UB40 helped popularize reggae with their covers album Labour of Love. There was no sophomore slump for Lionel Richie and Culture Club, who both released huge second albums. It's all 1983, our year on this episode of Time Machine Tuesday, supported by the spring St. Paul Art Crawl.
